Arthur MacLean Obituary
May 31, 1927 - May 21, 2013
Our loving father, Art MacLean of Claremont, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ early morning May 21st after a long battle with cancer.
Art was born in Strathadam, New Brunswick, Canada on the shores of the Miramichi River. He was the 7th of 9
children. He graduated from Toronto Bible College in 1948 and then Bob Jones University in May of 1953. Art joined the Sudan Interior Mission and went to
Africa at the end of 1954. Art met Carol Urban in Khartom, Sudan and were married on February 5, 1957. Art and Carol served sixteen years on the mission field, the last eight years running a home for orphan boys in Eriteria. In 1970 Art and family returned to the United States where he taught at West Covina Elementary school for 22 years before retiring. In 1994 Art became involved in starting a new church, Christ Community Church, where he has served as an elder for the last 18 years.
Art leaves behind his beloved wife of fifty six years, Carol Maclean and two sons, Bruce Maclean and his wife Keonoi of Thailand and Richard Maclean and his wife Joanne of Vacaville. Art's son Steve and twin daughters Ruth and Rita preceded him in death. Art also leaves behind five grand children Joelle, Andrea, Carl, Katryna and Tessa.
A memorial service will be had on May 29th at 7:00 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 1432 W. Puente Ave., West Covina, CA 91790

I praise God for what He accomplished through Art while he temporarily assigned to earth and the legacy of a Godly family left behind to serve our real Father.

Many happy memories and the learning of God's Word at Art's home when we attened CCC home Bible studies. Our prayers are with you as you remember the wonderful Father, Teacher, Husband he was. All our love.

Mr. MacLean was a wonderful teacher. I am very grateful to him for the years he devoted to WCCS. I am happy to know he is at peace with God. My sincere condolences to the family.

33- Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, And I shall observe it to the end.
34- Give me understanding, that I may observe Your law And keep it with all my heart.

Art was an example of a christian man. His works speak for themselves. He visited my husband Cal many times when he (Cal) was hospitalized of which I am very grateful. I believe the two have met in heaven as spiritual brothers.
