Verna Navine

Sheboygan - Verna Navine, 88, of Sheboygan, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Countryside Manor. Verna was born to the late Glenn and Lula (Chaney) Rowe on April 2, 1933 in Kentucky. She was united in marriage to Arnold H. Navine in Iron River, MI in May of 1962. They were married until Arnold's death on March 27, 1999. Verna was an avid hunter, fisherman and was the first woman to work in the factory at Old Wisconsin.

Verna is survived by her children, Michael Navine (significant other Lynn Horack), Deborah (Roger) Peters, Marnie Matheny (Dewayne Mattox), Diane Miller and Kathy Cockerham; grandchildren, Jeffrey Peters, Rebecca Peters, Brianda Navine, Jaime Matheny, Jennifer Matheny, Kortney Mattox; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings, Linda (Darrel) Gilgan, Susan Gilligan and Robert (Cheri) Rowe; special friend Neil Jonasen.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Vera (Archie) Schroeder, Velma (Val) Atkinson and Glenda Mae Rowe.

A private memorial service will be held at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed online at www.reinboldfh.com.

I worked at Old Wisconsin when
Verna started there. She was one of the first women to work at Old Wisconsin. BUT she was the first woman to work in the Sausage kitchen there. I remember that. It was history. She was a good worker and got along with everyone.
