On behalf of the American Rose Society I offer our condolences to the family of this wonderful lady. She was a very generous supporter of the rose, our rosarians, our many educational projects, and the ARS trusts.
She was instrumental in helping the ARS to move to the Shreveport area. She was most helpful as we grew and prospered at the American Rose Center and visited us often to view our progress in planting our rose gardens and building our offices and educational center.
Always gracious, always helpful, always with words of encouragement - she was greatly admired by those ARS members who were fortunate to meet her.
She will be sorely missed by all of us,
Jolene Adams

Virginia touched so many lives, both in the Shreveport area, and all over the state. Down here in Baton Rouge, she was considered the First Lady of North Louisiana, and state officials, from Governors on down, sought her out for her advise, help and friendship. She helped me through some troubling times when I served as Insurance Commissioner. When she served in the Louisiana State Senate, she often dominated the debate, and generally got her way. Simply put, Virginia was an exceptional lady who touched so many lives in so many ways. Louisiana will miss her an all she did for the state. My sympathies to all the Shehee family.

To the Family of Virgina Kilpatrick Shehee:
May the joy and happiness of the precious memory of this well-spent life of the Lady Legend Virginia K. Shehee bring you peace at this time and always. Truly she was an extraordinary, amazing and exemplmentary example of love and compassion in action. She touched and enhanced the lives of so many citizens of Shreveport and our lovely state of Louisiana. I, along with so many others, are better because the Lord allowed our paths to cross. I am so blessed and appreciative to have worked for Rose Neath Funeral Home many, many years ago yet the memories are fond and everlasting. Be encouraged for you shall see her again when all God's children get together. Unil then, comfort ye one another. A page turned, a chapter completed, a race well run, a soldier gone home!

I am sorry to here of Mrs. Shehee's passing. I went to work for her in 1971 after high school. She was and inspiration to all. She gave myself and many other co-workers the chance to go to Mortuary School and become Licensed Mortician's. I remember she was so kind and supportive when my wife and I were married and when our first son was born. She gave me many opportunities there at Rose Neath and opened doors for me in the future. Our prayers are with you: Shane, Nell, Andy, Margaret. Rest in peace Mrs. Shehee and thank you for all you did for everyone in the community.

The Final Salute
Brothers in Arms, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged Hand Salutes as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This Hand Salute is the last that we shall render to Virginia Ruth Kilpatrick Sheehee a true American Patriot and Philanthropist who demonstrated her patriotism to the Ark-La-Tex veterans community by contributing time and time again to American Legion Post 14 and to other veteran causes. To Virginia's family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for her. And to Virginia it is rendered to thank her for the many patriotic services she rendered to our community, our state and our nation. Virginia, we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our community. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,061 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 233 veterans of VFW Post 2238 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Virginia's family, her loved ones and the Roseneath-Kilpatrick employees.

Virginia was always warm and kind to me and all of the Yogie and Friends volunteer staff. She loved what we did to rescue lions and tigers and we appreciated her kindness, and more often than not, her ideas and advice to our cause. She loved animals and often told me about her love of her LSU Tigers. She had a great sense of humor and she was an inspiration to me personally. I am blessed to have had an opportunity to have known her and am greatful that she took the time to be there for so many. She raised a great family too. Thank you Virginia for your ear and your kindness. You will be missed, but not forgotten. Blessings to all her family and everyone who loved her. God speed!

Virginia Ruth Kilpatrick Shehee was North West Louisiana's own Wonder Woman. Everyone counted on her, loved her, respected her and she always wanted the best for everyone. She wanted you to step up and help where you could. Her positive light, drive and energy was palatable-- maybe even possibility somewhat even imitating to some but not to the underdog or disenfranchised. She scooped us all up under her hard earned/self-made mink coat and just loved us with ever fiber of her being. She left us all better than she found us(if you were luck- smelling of a little her shalimar perfume) THANK You THANK You VKS! Thank you all -- Shane, Nell, Andy and Margaret for sharing her with the rest of us.

Mrs. Virginia was an inspiration to many. She was always a part of the "Gift of Life" When I started with LOPA (Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency) 10 years ago, I met with Mrs. Virginia on organ and tissue donation. She was so loving to her families and stressed this from day one her service was supporting the donor families and honoring the wishes to save and enhance lives. Thank you for being a passionate person when serving others and their needs. You have instilled this in your staff. Thank you from your LOPA family
