Larry Boyer Obituary
SPRINGFIELD - Larry L. Boyer, 58, of Springfield, formerly of Jacksonville, died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at his residence.
He was born November 22, 1951, in Jacksonville, the son of Harold W. Boyer and Ruth D. Constable Boyer Owens.
He is survived by three sisters, Marilyn Wagner (husband, Harold) of Jacksonville, Carolyn Sue Cambridge (husband, Gary) of Eldon, MO and Lorie Burrell (fiance, Randy Howard) of Jacksonville; four nieces and nephews, Jay Wagner, Dawn Wagner, Kristy Wagner, and Greg Boyer; a stepnephew, Scott Cambridge; a cousin, Bobby Constable (wife, Sheyrl) of Farmersville; and a dear friend, Mary Claire Johnson of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his best friend and grandmother, Dora M. Constable; and two uncles, Floyd "Bob" Constable and Freddie Lee Constable.
Mr. Boyer was employed 40 years by Norfolk Southern Railroad and was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees, Wabash Federation. He was a faithful member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Springfield. He enjoyed playing golf and discussing politics in his spare time.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Morey Cemetery in New Canton. The family will meet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Buchanan and Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
Memorial gifts are suggested to St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Springfield.

I only knew Larry for a short time through Koinonia of Springfield and only had a couple of opportunities to speak with him. But just from those brief encounters I discovered a generous soul that I had never met before. He was giving and accepting of others. I will never forget him. Rest gently in God's Kingdom Larry.

Larry, Was a wonderful and caring man. I only worked with him for a short period of time, but he left a lasting impression on me. He will sadly be missed. My prayers go out to his family and friends during this time of grief.

Larry was a true child of God and a friend to all of us in the Koinonia community. He loved to talk about God and about the Bible. He will truly be missed but we are all secure in the knowledge that Larry is safe in God's healing hands. God bless you Larry.

Betty and I were privileged to know Larry, from numerous Koinonia events. He personified christian living. The newspaper mentioned his generosity; I can see him being generous with all, as a good samaritan. We will miss him; he will be especially in our prayers and thoughts Wednesday.

My condolences to Larry's family and friends. I only knew him for a relatively short time, through the Cathedral Bible Study Group, but his devotion to God and the spreading of the Gospel was immediately evident. I believe that he is now with God, whom he loved and served so well. He will be missed by many.

When I heard the news of Larry's death, I was in shock and disbelief. For Larry was a kind and giving man, who would do without-to help another. Larry lived his life as a fellow Christian, as we all should.
You could count on Larry to attend a Koinonia function, and always making people feel welcomed. He will be sadly missed by his Koinonia and STALK (St. Al's K) friends.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Larry's family. He was part of many families including the Koinia and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Bible Study group. Those of us who knew him knew of his devout faith and dedication to the Lord. He prided himself in knowing the Scriptures and also to have the Lord as his special partner on the golf fairways.
