Frank T. Ryan
SPRINGFIELD - Frank T. Ryan, 33, of Springfield, passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2012.
Frank was born July 13, 1979 in Springfield, the son of Patrick A. and Delores Roberts Ryan. He married Michelle Skube on November 12, 2012 in Jamaica.
Frank was a graduate of Southeast High School. He owned and operated The Artist's Edge Tattoo Shop in Springfield, where he was well known for his amazing, award winning tattoo artistry. Frank was a Dad first, but never missed out on social gatherings with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Ryan of Springfield; his mother, Delores Watkins of Springfield; three sons, Ashton, Chayse, and Drew Ryan of Springfield; two step-sons, Jayson and Brody Skube of Springfield; grandmother, Nancy Ryan; one brother, Mathew P. (wife, Shelley) Ryan of Taylorville; three nephews, Patrick, Nathan, and Michael; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Funeral Ceremony: 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to: The Ryan Childrens' Education Fund, c/o any Marine Bank location.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the Ryan family at this time. We were very saddened to hear of Frank's passing. Each time we were in his shop he was caring and excited for our visit. We were friends with Ashton and Julie and pray for comfort and peace for them as well during this sad time. We will contiune to carry all of you in our prayers during the days and night to come.

Frank, You are going to be so missed!! Several years ago when searching out the right guy to do my ink work, I came into your shop!! We talked, I shared my idea's and you took it and ran with it. I knew I found the guy!! Man you didnt dissapoint!! I get compliments on your work all the time. I came to consider you a friend!! I wanted to have you do some more work on them. Dee, I spent alot of time with you and your brother Albert across at the Hood house. I did not know Frank but my kids did. I just wanted to give my condolences to you and to his family. My heart breaks after hearing of the passing of Frank. I have known him for many years as we went to school together and would bump into each other from time to time. I was just recently in and out of his shop as he was designing a team logo for my sons bmx team. It turned out great. He was always so friendly and up beat. My prayers go out to everyone grieving over the loss of Frank as he knew alot of people. May we all find peace during this trying time. He left behind a little part of himself in each of his boys and they will carry on his name. I don't believe anyone had a bad word to say about him and that alone speaks volume and should give everyone peace that they had the chance to know him. Heaven received another angel and now he can spread his wings and fly.

We met Frank for the first time in September of this year. My husband and I were getting matching tattoos, my first tattoo. A few weeks later I went back for another? Frank and my husband hit it off instantly. Frank had a personality of one who never met a stranger. Just in that short amount of time he impacted our lives and a friendship evolved. That alone speaks volumes. I spoke with Frank on Wednesday of last week as I was scheduling time with him to finish up on John's tattoo. I'm so glad now that I had that time with him. It is times like this that put our faith to the test. I feel that is why we have to use our faith to see us through the grief and despair. All of our prayers should remind us of the loving and compassionate person that Frank was. All of the gestures of love shown are a fitting tribute to a good and decent man. The Bible says "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted." I pray that God will bless you and give you the strength to get through this very difficult time. Please accept our sincere sympathy and know that you all are continuously in our prayers.
