Albert will be sadly missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I will really miss Albert also. I and our family loved and cared for both Albert and Harriette. As Upper Skagit Indian, Albert and Harriete have both cared for us and helped us.Even when our house burned down by Dalles Bridge. I am the daughter of Joe and Susan Williams, and our family are grateful for Albert and family, because no matter what they never showed any predjudice, but helped and worked with our family in that way. I am 56 but when I was 4 or 5 years old, I used to sell bottles to Albert for penny candy and Albert had a smile on his face and teased me and my sisters.I'm just thankful for such a family that Albert and Harriete raised. He will be greatly missed and I send my prayers with the family. Thank you, Marilyn Williams Rock and Williams Family.

Albert always had a way of making you feel special. My girls loved to go the Red Apple to "get picked on by Albert" (well the "funny little old man" as they called him.) Albert's antics are carried on by Mike and Richard though. We never knew when one of the Franks, Albert in particular, would pop around the corner of an aisle and try to put my girls to work. After growing up in Concrete and seeing the Frank's work ethic, that might not be a bad idea. :) I also have seen the "ritual"- Albert at the door waiting to close, as I am rushing in to grab that last minute thing. He had this "scolding" look on his face but that wickedly playful gleam in his eye. What a great man. Albert was so loved, just look at how far away guests in this guest book are. He will be missed by all who was lucky enough to know him. Rest in Peace Albert.

Thanks for all the smiles Albert. My mother was teaching a lady how to drive in the 60s.My mother and her friend parked at the front of the store, somehow the clutch was released and the car finally stopped at the second check out and no one was hurt. I always loved to ask Albert for front door parking.

I will never forget the first time I met Albert. I was the Account Manager for Associated Grocers. He was grumbly at first, but it became apparent to me that he was a wonderful person to have the honor of getting to know. Over the years of calling on the Frank family, it became my favorite place to go. His stories tickled me to my funny bone and they will stay with me forever. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family, please know I am thinking of you. Love, Lynn

I have never know anyone stronger, more reliable, stubborn and delightful as Albert, he truly was a "softie" at heart. He will be missed greatly and will be forever in our thoughts.

As a child I remember going to Albert's with the Hornbeck girls. We could walk there from their grandmothers. As we got older we drove there from Birdview. Albert was always there, always smiling and ready to tease us if he got a chance.
As we got older he never seemed to age and he never seemed to forget anyone. He seems to have passed down all that family friendliness to his sons and their families. You have so much to be proud of for just being part of the Frank family.
My sympathies to all of you but you have so many wonderful memories of that great smile and he'll always live forever in your hearts and minds.

Although I only had the pleasure of seeing Albert a handful of times, it is clear he was a wonderful man. He will be missed terribly.

A true American pioneer, with family values and ethics that are sorely missed these days. I rarely heard him say a lot, he just did a lot. I will miss him and what he represented to all of us. My sincere sympathies to the family.

I have so many great memories of Albert. I used to get to go to the store with my grandmother Dorothy Krotzer, and most of all I loved to see Alberts smile and that little sparkle in his eye, once while waiting for grandmother I decided to "help" rearrange the fruit from softest to hardest..."oh boy" yes I will never forget how Albert was standing beside me, "watching" so we rearranged the fruit BACK again. But after the stern talking to as to why things were that way...he smiled and handed me a penny candy. I never "rearranged" much after that, but always got to help when he was stocking something
I got to grow up with Albert and "harry" and those are such treasured memories. I am honored to have been a small part of alberts life. I loved that lil man who once gave me the best brightest biggest red apple I've ever seen. You are all truly blessed. May your loss ease into those wonderful treasured memories. God Bless

I am so sorry to hear the passing of one of the great "up river" guys! He will be missed very deeply by the whole valley, along with his family. I remember babysitting the boys and Albert would have to walk me home to make sure I got there safe-it was just across the road, one house away!! We will all miss that wonderful smile he gave all the "gals"

What a sad day this is for all of the Upriver community. Albert has been such a fixture of the store and of Concrete that it's hard to believe we won't see him some where in one of the aisles with that little twinkle in his eye and that mischievous little grin of his. I will truly miss seeing Albert, he was always fun to have a little visit with. So many of us know it was very special to have him tease you and be your friend. Our condolences to all of you in your loss, but what a history and legacy he leaves behind!! You will all be able to find huge comfort in the warm memories that so many folks will share of this special man.. And oh my gosh, the Guardian Angel you have now!! He'll always be with you. Take care, and God Bless. Peggy, Bill and Will Hatley

I remember, as a small child, moving to Concrete from the "big" city. We all went to Alberts on the first day in town to get supplies, and we were recieved with kindness from all the Franks. When we left my Dad looked at us and said, "If all the people here are like that, then I guess we will be o.k." Albert always had a easy smile that I could look forward to as a child, and adult, and now as a mother. I feel blessed that my son got to know him a little. My thoughts are with you all. I am sure that Concrete will continue to be a wonderful little town that I am proud to call home, but it just feels like there is a little less in it today.
