JOEL BROCK Obituary
He was born in Denver, CO and raised in Carmel Valley, CA. He graduated from the University of California Davis with a BS in design and a graduate teaching certificate. He moved to the Skagit Valley in 1985 with his then wife, Denise, where they raised their two amazing daughters, Taylor and Carly. This is where he cultivated his renowned artistic career.
Joel is survived by his daughters Taylor and Carly Brock, mother Virginia Brock, siblings Becky Akerblom, Amy Roberts, and Michael Brock, and their families.
He was preceded in death recently by his father Reverend James Brock.
He will be missed greatly by not only his family, friends, the art community and the town of Edison, but also by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Joel has lived his life with a compassionate spirit, welcoming arms, artistic eyes, and a beautiful heart.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Sunday, November 3rd from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at the Edison Eye gallery in Edison, WA. Everyone is welcome, however, sending warm thoughts is equally appreciated as we understand the short notice. Please help us celebrate his colorful life by avoiding traditional funeral attire.

What a asset for Skagit Valley. Joel painted Skagit like no one else. His work will live on forever. Having grown up in the Edison area,--When I saw his work for the first time,It touched my heart and I will always be grateful for the way he brought it to life.I am fan forever. Thank you Joel.
