Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center - PinevilleMichael Carl “Milo” Brock, 69, of Pineville, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 12, 2026. He was born in Harlan on February 4, 1957, the son of Carl and Lawanda Lefevers Brock.
Michael spent his career working as a surface miner, a profession he took great pride in. Known throughout the strip mines for his skill and work ethic, he was widely respected as one of the best “92” operators around.
Outside of work, Michael enjoyed the simple things that made life special. He loved spending time crappie fishing and enjoying lake life whenever he had the chance. Michael was also a devoted fan of Kentucky Wildcats football and basketball, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on the Cats.
Michael cherished time spent with friends and family. Thursday nights were often reserved for poker with his longtime crew, where stories and beers were shared.
He is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Amanda and Jim Kaup and Abbie and Josh Saylor; and by his beloved grandchildren, Allie Kaup, Alex Kaup, Jacob Kaup, Anna Wilder, and Ava Wilder. Of all the titles Michael carried in life, the one he cherished most was being called “Pa.” Being their Pa was his proudest joy and greatest accomplishment.
He is also survived by his sisters, Pamela Collett and Jana Caruso and her husband Robert; niece, Heather Collett and Matt Estes; nephews, Mark and Susan Collett and Justin and Mary Caruso; along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and many friends who will miss him dearly.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Baptist Health Corbin and the hospice nurses of Bluegrass Care Navigators for the compassion, care, and kindness they showed Michael and the family during his illness.
Funeral services will be held at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Sanders officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, with the funeral service immediately following at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro with Jason Couch, Mark Collett, Justin Caruso, Jim Kaup, Josh Saylor, John Sharpe, John David Lefevers, and Kevin Gann serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will include Robert Caruso, Michael J. Sizemore, Mitchell Nunn, Terry “Dollar” Bailey, Calvin Minor, and the rest of Milo’s Thursday night poker crew, whose friendship meant so much to him.
