SOUTH BEND - Anna Mroz, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Anna was born June 27, 1927, in Poland, and taken to Germany at a young age. This is where she met her husband Josef; they married August of 1946. They came to America in 1951 and settled to raise their family in South Bend. Josef preceded her in death on February 25, 2009.
Survivors of Anna include her children, Irene Kafka and Jim (Tina) Mroz; grandchildren, Carol (Dan) Demeyer, Julie (Robert) Jones, Samantha (Matthew) Gorzkiewicz and Adam & Alex Mroz; 9 great-grandchildren, Tyler & Tanner Lindorf, Dylan, Trace, Carter, Quin, & Katie Jones, Tori Demeyer and Colt Gorzkiewicz.
Anna retired from Kreamo Bakery after working 34 years. She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church and a member of their Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Grandmothers Club and the Haller's Post Ladies Auxiliary. Anna enjoyed dancing, gardening and cooking, especially for her grandchildren.
Visitation for Anna will be 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, January 27, 2017, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., with a Rosary to be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 28, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Caring Home Health and Hospice, 2515 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN 46628.
