Death notice & obituary policy:
The Standard-Times/SouthCoastToday.com publishes paid obituaries daily. They are usually created by the family of the deceased and often serve as a eulogy to their loved one. Obituaries are generally placed by the funeral home. In the case of out-of-town deaths, families also may place the obituary, but we require the name and telephone number of the funeral home making the arrangements.
Death notices will be published free; will include the name and age of the deceased; his or her hometown; and the name of the surviving spouse; as well as funeral and burial information.
Obituaries must be received by 4:00 p.m. to appear the following day.
