NEW BEDFORD - Marie Rose Auger, 85, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Sacred Heart Nursing Home, St. Joseph Unit, after a long illness surrounded by her loved ones.

She was a lifelong resident of New Bedford and the daughter of the late Ida (Poineau) and Damage Auger. She was formerly employed at Sacred Heart Home for 30 years until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Parish.

She enjoyed visiting Canada with the nuns, playing bingo, dancing, and being with her family and loved ones. She was a devoted catholic and a genuine kind soul.

She is survived by her three sisters, Claudia Raposa, Rita Marshall, and her twin, Anne Bouchard, all of New Bedford; a special niece and nephew, Kaitlyn and Leo Bouchard; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was the sister of the late, Dave Auger, Joseph Auger, Columbe Proudfoot, Ida Auger, Flora Charbonneau and Jeanne Robidoux.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff on the St. Joseph's Unit at Sacred Heart for the care she has received for the past ten years and also to Community Nurse and Hospice.

In lieu of flowers please make all donations to Community Nurse and Hospice in Fairhaven, MA.

Visiting hours, Wednesday, April 7, 2010, from 4 to 7 PM at the CABRAL BAYLIES SQUARE-LAMOUREUX FUNERAL HOME, 512 No. Front St., New Bedford. Her funeral services on Thursday at 9 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery #2, New Bedford.
