Gail A. Abati

Gail A. (Elwood) Abati of East Bridgewater passed away in her home after over a 30-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis, surrounded by her family, April 3, 2021, at the age of 72. Gail was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Audrey (Brown) and John Hurley, and was raised and educated in East Bridgewater, graduating from East Bridgewater High School. Gail had been living the past 45 years in East Bridgewater, where she moved from Brockton. Gail was working for Bank of New England now Santander bank as a receptionist and teller when she was diagnosed with MS. She also worked for many many years at the Commercial Club of East Bridgewater as a waitress/bartender, where she met her husband David. Gail was an accomplished seamstress making everything from daily clothing to wedding dresses. Wife of devoted husband David P. Abati of East Bridgewater. Beloved mother of daughter Nicole L. (Holyoke) Boulter and Mark S. Holyoke. Sister of late Ann Elwood, William Elwood, Joan Wilson and Robert Hurley. Loving grandmother of Kyle Holyoke, Kasey Holyoke, Ryan Boulter and Tyler Boulter. Great-grandmother of Keegan, Logan and Kyria. Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Services for Gail will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
