Frank J. "Frankie" D'Argento, 62, of West Newton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 23, 2026.
Born in Boston on May 15, 1963, he was the beloved son of the late Russell N. and Theresa M. D'Argento (Brescia). Frankie was a kind, warm, loving, and selfless man with a tremendous sense of humor. He had a natural ability to make people laugh and feel at ease, and his genuine spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Frankie was a proud graduate of Newton North High School and continued his education at Bridgewater State University and Suffolk University. A devoted sports enthusiast, he followed football and baseball daily and was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Watching the Patriots dominate during the playoffs became a treasured tradition shared with his son Kevin, moments they both looked forward to each year.
His love of sports extended beyond being a fan. Frankie dedicated his time to coaching and mentoring young athletes. He proudly coached Newton West Little League beginning in 2009 and later playing in The Albemarle Men's Softball league, always emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and having fun.
A reliable and hardworking man with a strong work ethic, Frankie owned and operated Highlander Laundry for over three decades. He took great pride in his business and in serving his community with dedication and integrity.
At home, Frankie found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially spoiling his beloved dogs, Charlie and Stella. He also cherished the special memories he created with Kevin, including memorable road trips to the Football Hall of Fame and the Baseball Hall of Fame, experiences that strengthened their bond and reflected his deep love as a father.
Of all the roles he held in life, Frankie's most important and cherished title was that of Father. His devotion to Kevin was unwavering, and the memories they built together will remain a lasting testament to his love.
Predeceased by his beloved parents and his brother Raymond D'Argento.
Frankie is survived by his loving and devoted son, Kevin F. D'Argento, and Kevin's mother, Gloria D'Argento. He also leaves his loving siblings, Russell and Richard D'Argento; along with many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
