Maynard - Mr. Gregory M. 'Sully' Sullivan, of Maynard, died Friday, January 23, 2026 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He was 75.
He was born in Newton on December 15, 1950, a son of the late Francis and Kathleen (Binneresley) Sullivan and was a graduate of Newton North High School.
Following his March, 1974 marriage to Waltham native Deborah G. Senarian, the pair soon made Newton their home where they raised their family. They also lived in Waltham before moving to Maynard. Sully and Debbie enjoyed forty-eight happy years together before her death in August, 2022.
He worked for forty-two years in the custodial department at the Newton Library where his friendly nature earned him many friends. Sully was also a longtime member of the Newton Elks and the Newton Yacht Club.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Debbie, Sully was also predeceased by their daughter, Kelly A. Sullivan and his brother, Robert Sullivan.
Sully leaves his children, Stacy L. Motyka (Joseph) of Framingham, Jason G. Sullivan (Heidi) of Westford, and Katelyn Caissie (Victor) of Framingham; his grandchildren, Joseph, Alyssa, and Matthew Motyka, Chloe and Patrick Sullivan, and Dylan and Amelia Caissie; his sisters and brothers, Francis L. Sullivan, Jr. of Newton, Kathleen Sullivan Langley of Waltham, Margaret Robinson of Maynard, Karen Dermarderosian (Mark) of Marlborough, Anna M. Ferguson (Gary) of Auburn, Michael K Sullivan (Maria) of Quincy, and Christine O’Connor of Franklin; his sister-in-law, Nancy Sullivan of Newton and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Family and friends will honor and remember Sully’s life by gathering for a Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Saturday, February 7th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by his Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Burial is private.
