Paul Coleman Obituary

Paul Francis Coleman, 85 years of age, entered life eternal at South Shore Hospital on Monday, August 1, 2016. Paul was the beloved husband of 57 years to Patricia A. (Hughes) Coleman. He was the devoted father of Kevin Coleman of Boston, Janet Kelley married to Robert Kelley of Milton, Paul Coleman Jr. married to Susan Coleman of Weymouth, Steven Coleman married to Kerry Coleman of Braintree, and Christopher Coleman married to Michelle Coleman of Whitman. He was the proud grandfather of Brendan and Shane Kelley, Kelly, Katie, Patrick, and Matthew Coleman, Samantha, Michael and Stephanie Coleman, and Meaghan, Aidan and Brennan Coleman. Paul is survived by two sisters, Mary Maye and Catherine Coleman of Andover, formerly of Brighton. He was the brother of the late John J. Coleman formerly of Braintree and the late Elsie Cronin formerly of Arlington. He was the brother-in-law of Vincent K. Hughes of Brookline. He was the son of the late John Joseph Coleman and Elsie Marie (McCarthy) Coleman both of whom were born in Ireland. Paul was survived and loved by many nieces and nephews. He was born and raised in the Brighton section of Boston and he was a longtime Braintree resident. Paul served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He had been employed for many years as a technician for NE Telephone Company and Nynex, and belonged to the Telephone Pioneers. He was an active parishioner at the Church of St. Thomas More. He was a former member of the St. Clare Bowling League. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories and jokes and playing family card games. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree, Wednesday, August 3, from 4-8 p.m. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Thursday, August 4, at 9 am.. to be followed by a funeral Mass in the Church of St. Thomas More at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations in Pauls memory may be sent to South Shore Hospital, Oncology Department, 55 Fogg Road, Weymouth, MA 02190 or the charity of the donors choice.

It's been awhile since I've seen Paul but, he made an impact in my life. RIP. My condolences to the family.
