Laurene Babb Obituary
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Laurene Buchheit Babb, 59, devoted mother of three, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017.
Laurie, a joyful and creative soul, was born July 2, 1957 in Prince William County, Virginia, to Phyllis Buchheit DeLapp and the late Newton Jerue Babb. She spent 28 years lovingly serving the community through her various businesses, including massage therapy. Laurie enjoyed spending time with her children, traveling, cooking, gardening, laughing, and storytelling. She was always true to herself no matter what the circumstances. Laurie was studying to obtain her PhD. She served as a member of the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of Henderson County.
In addition to her mother, Phyllis B. DeLapp, Laurie is survived by her son, Andrew Barnett; her daughters, Katie and Sarah Barnett; her brother, Andrew M. Babb and his wife, Kitsy; and her nieces, Kathleen and Hannah Babb.
She was predeceased by her brother and best friend, Philip J. Babb.
There will be a private service.
The family welcomes friends to join them at The Piedmont Club on Wednesday, June 21st, 12PM to celebrate her life.
In remembrance of Laurie, memorials may be made to the Noble Tree Foundation, 424 E. Kennedy Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is, 115 Tanglewylde Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29301; or to the charity of one's choice.

Dear Andrew and Kitsy,
I am so very sorry for your loss. It is terribly difficult to lose a sibling, and that empty space in your life can never truly be re-filled. With the death of my brother a few years ago, I found that the memories and devotion we shared meant so very much. I am sure that you will spend time reminiscing with laughter and tears.
What a lovely person she was, with many friends and loved ones.
