Eirene Boni Obituary

BONI,
Eirene Carlson
2/21/1927 - 12/29/2010

"Rene" was born in Spokane, WA to Swedish immigrants, David and Selma Carlson. She grew up in Peaceful Valley, graduating from Lewis and Clark High School. She attended Whitworth College where she met Lou Boni, her true soul mate and husband of 64 years.

Rene and Lou began their family in Spokane, having a son, Louis. They moved to Tonasket, WA and had two daughters, Sally and Barbara. From Tonasket, the family moved to East Wenatchee, Marysville, and finally to Priest Point, WA. There Rene found her home; walking the beach, soaking up the magnificent mountains and glorious sunsets, always excited to see an eagle soar or the herons return to their nests.

Rene was a musician, artist, wife, mother, teacher, gardener and more. An accomplished pianist, music was an integral part of who she was. When she played, her shyness disappeared and the room came to life. She was her husband's best friend and the perfect coach's wife, celebrating his successes and supporting him through the tough times. After her children were grown, she proudly earned her degree in Sociology and Education from the University of Washington. Rene was always a teacher and student with a voracious appetite for knowledge. At fifty, she began the formal profession she had been doing all her life-"teaching. She loved the students at Tulalip Elementary, where she taught her entire career.

In every part of life, Rene was thoughtful and artistic. Because she realized anything could be significant, she always lived with integrity, intention, an open mind, and a sense of humor. She was progressive, knowing the importance of our actions on each other and our world. She was first to support and celebrate local artists and talent, forever encouraging creativity.

Rene's grandchildren brought her an enormous amount of enjoyment, and she truly enriched their lives. She leaves behind; Heidi Todhunter, Erica Boni Lerer (Evan Lerer), Lauren Christophersen, Erin Boni, Steven Boni, and Cody Christophersen.

In addition to her husband, children, and grandchildren Rene is survived by her son-in-law, Sally's husband, Dennis Christophersen, her sister, Helen Blackwell, her brother, Glenn Carlson, sisters-in-law Bernice, Dot, and Dolly Carlson, as well as, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death, by her brothers, Paul Carlson and Gordon Carlson and brother-in-law Stuart Blackwell.

We want to thank everyone who helped in the final care of our mother; family, neighbors, Careforce, and especially Conny and Sharon.

All of us who knew her; whether as wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, or friend are better because she graced our lives -¦.. we are truly the lucky ones! She was brilliant, truly generous, and she loved us unconditionally. She was our model of excellence. We hope we demonstrate always that she lives in us.

She will be missed tremendously -¦.. and every day.

We encourage and appreciate anyone who was touched by our mother to view photos, share memories, and sign the guest book at Arrangements" target="_blank" rel="nofollow, noindex" class="obit-text-link">WWW.FLINTOFTS.COM

Saddened to hear of Mrs. Boni's passing. She was such an inspiration to me and I will miss her. She was my fifth grade teacher in 1984 and we shared a special friendship outside of school. I will carry the special lessons she taught with me forever. My heart goes out to Lou as I know what a beautiful loving closeness you shared. My prayers for the family.

Lou, I just want you to know that the MP family has you in our thoughts and prayers. You and Mrs. Boni were always such a great role model to so many of us. Take care, coach.

My sincere sympathy to the Boni family. Rene was the first secretary under whom I worked at Shoultes School. She was most helpful in getting me through my first job in WA. She always had a smile no matter what was happening. I am sure she is smiling down on us now. Love and prayers, Julie Chatterson
