(Age 92)

Passed away on April 6, 2017. He was born October 4, 1924 in Milton Freewater, OR. He served in the Navy during WWII and after his discharge he pursued his career as a baker. He met and married Marie Vanderpool and they had two children Jerald and Neil Dyer. Later on in life he settled in Spokane where he met and married Ruth Dyer. As he progressed in his career he and Ruth transferred to many cities in the Western US. They retired in Spokane where they lived their remaining days. He was a kind man with a beautiful smile and loved by many. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Packer Dyer; parents Charles M. and Pearl Davis Dyer; son Neil Dyer; step-daughter Carol Thornton; brothers Clark, Edward, Gordon, John, David and Harry; sisters Alma Brunner and Virginia Daughtery. He is survived by his son Jerald Dyer; step-daughter Judith Miley; sister Elna Tucker; brother Paul Dyer; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Graveside Service with military honors 12:30PM Friday April 14, 2017 at Fairmount Memorial Park. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to VA Community Living Center (Hospice), Spokane, WA.
