Maribeth & Dennis McMahon

November 19, 2008

It was on our calendar to leave a message by 11-18 (yesterday) so I don't know if this will make it into the memory book.

We couldn't wrap our thoughts around the loss of our dear Aunt Val. She was a sweet Godmother (to Maribeth); an excellent health source; a great family resource and a true friend. I would call call her with nothing to say and end up talking for a half an hour! I missed her the minute I heard the news.

She left us with many happy memories of her life with her husband (Uncle Vic); her great family Rick, Louise, Buzz and all their wonderful kids.

We guess God needed an "Aunt Val" at his side. We love her and will greatly miss her.

Ricky, Louise and Jimmy,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. What fun memories we have of Nurses Club meetings, Oxo-Boxo lake and for me, the time I spent living upstairs from Aunt Val and Uncle Vic when I came back to Stamford with my babies to start over. I will always hold them both dear to my heart.

Val was the school nurse at Hart Magnet School when my children went there. I always felt better knowing she was there to look after them if they got hurt or sick. She was a great lady and a wonderful friend. She will be missed. Jenny Chiappetta (Mother of Jennifer, Rachel and Tony)

Ricky, Louise & Jimmy:
I was the school secretary at Westover School with your mom. My daughter Alison called your mom, "Nonie Val". We spoke often on the phone and she told me she wasn't feeling well but would call me soon and when I hadn't heard from her, I was so sad to read today that she had passed away. I really loved her. She was one, truly great lady and I will definitely miss her. You were very lucky to have her as your mom. My deepest, deepest sympathy to you, your spouses, children and family.
