Joan Rasmussen Obituary
Joan Mary Rasmussen, 80, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017. She was born in Stamford on April 27, 1936.
Upon graduation from SHS in 1954 Joan Mary attending Pratt Institute on a full scholarship and there she received her BFA and later went on to get her MFA from University of IL. In 1962 she received a Fulbright Grant to study in Florence, Italy. She taught art and music in the Stamford Public Schools.
Joan Mary began showing her work in various shows as early as 1949 and was an award winning artist, poet and writer.
Funeral services and Interment were private. There were no calling hours.

Dear Rasmussen Family, Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of Joan Mary. She was an integral part of Toquam Elementary School's Parent Group, when it first opened in the Fall of 1970. I am very sorry for your loss. May she rest in peace. Sincerely, Frances C. Uva
