Morrie passed away on February 16th, 2026. Morrie was born June 2, 1925 at St. John's Hospital in Fargo, ND. to Andrew and Martha Rasmussen. He lived with his parents in Moorhead, MN. After the death of his mother, he and his brothers lived with uncle and aunt Sivert and Anna Rasmuson on a farm north of Moorhead. Later they moved back to their house in Moorhead. He attended Park Elementary School and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1943. He worked for the N.P. railroad a short time before going into the Army Air Corps.
After his discharge he attended Concordia College for one year then graduated after 2 years from Interstate Business College. He worked for the Gamble store in Fargo.
In 1951, he started his career as a traveling salesman, which lasted 38 years. In later years he became one of the owners of Lincoln Suppliers, Inc. in Owatonna, MN.
On May 3, 1952, he married Dorothy C. Johnson, they became parents of 3 sons, Bruce, John and James.
After his retirement in 1989, he became active in El Zagal Shrine. He served as Hospital Representative and Recorder. He also volunteered for United Blood Services as a driver for deliveries from donor sites. In retirement he became a faithful member of First Lutheran Church, and joined the Helping Hands Club of First Lutheran Church.
Morrie is survived by sons Bruce (Michele) Rasmussen, Fargo. ND, John (Jonette) Rasmussen, Cypress, TX, James (Constance) Rasmussen, Fargo, ND. Grandchildren Jordan Nesvig, Denver, CO, Kasie Kallhoff, Fargo, ND, Alexandra (Ethan) Campbell, Hendrum, MN., future Great Granddaughter Campbell, and many nieces and nephews.
Morrie is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy of 56 years, his parents Andrew and Martha Rasmussen, brothers Raymond and Melvin Rasmussen, and his longtime companion Vi Prischmann.
There will be a Masonic Memorial Service on February 23, 2026 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home at 12:00 PM. Visitation at 1 PM and Funeral Service at 1:30 PM at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND
