Ruth Schultz Obituary
Mechanicsburg, PA - Ruth H. Schultz, 92, formerly of Blossburg, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021, in Mechanicsburg, PA. Ruth was born November 13, 1928, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian Hinder. Ruth was a graduate of Wellsboro High School.
On June 19, 1948, she married Louis Schultz at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Wellsboro and they shared 52 years of loving marriage until his passing on November 24, 2000.
Ruth was an active member of the former St. Andrew's Church in Blossburg, currently the Holy Child Parish. In earlier years, she participated in the church's Altar and Rosary Society and Good Samaritans.
She was employed as an accountant by the Blossburg State Hospital and its successor, North Penn Health Services.
Ruth was an active member of the Blossburg Red Hat Ladies for a number of years. She also enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, especially painting, and the weekly bingo games at her retirement community.
Surviving are three children, Pamela Bair of Rebersburg, Louis Schultz Jr. of Mechanicsburg, Joseph Schultz of Wilmington, NC, four grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Ruth was predeceased by her 11 brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at11:30 a.m. Monday, March 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Blossburg. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 314 Granger St., Blossburg. Burial will be held in Blossburg's Arbon Cemetery.
