Al & Nick, Your dad was one of a kind. He was a good man, always cheerful. We enjoyed sitting near him at the outdoor concerts & at the IAV club. We enjoyed watching him get up and do a dance routine with his cane in front of many people. He always had a smile and was nice to everyone.

Al & Nick, sorry that I could not be at the services. Your dad was a hard working man that grew up and raised a family during the toughest of times. I know we have learned a lot about life from Albert and others of his era that are still living and those that have passed on. He was proud of his contribution to his country and Albert truly was part of the 'Greatest Generation" that ever lived. Rich (Muncie, IN)

My deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Bacille family with the loss of their father, grandfather and great grandfather. Albert Bacille was a fine man and one whose friendship I cherished.
It going on eight years since I met Albert for the first time. I felt honored as he accepted me right away. Our chats could last for hours. Pick a topic. And that topic became his.
I grew to love Albert over the years and was so saddened by his death. Albert was ready to meet his Lord butI don't know if God is ready to meet Albert. *smile* God bless Albert Baccile and keep him safe. There is no one like him.

Al & Nick: I am very thankful I got the chance to talk with your father about his service in Normandy. He is a true American Hero! Men today are not like the men of his generation. Uncle Al will be greatly missed. God Bless.

Nick & Al: Your dad was a unique & knowledgeable man, a great soldier, a philosopher, an articulate speaker, avid reader, great story teller, super historian, amazing entertainer, life of the party person, and most of all a dad who was very proud of his two sons and his grandchildren. He taught us all a lot about life, and how to understand it better. He had some remarkable sayings that we'll remember forever. We will all miss him, but know he's entertaining the saints in heaven, and having fun doing it. Love..Ray Giammichele

Nick: From what you told me your dad was quite a man. right to the end. He was callded to serve at a young age, a group we call "the great generation". They saved humanity and the world. You are lucky to have his genes and may he rest in peace.

My father was my best friend. Even though I have not lived in Elmira since 1978 I spoke with him daily.
His philosophy on life inspired me to be the best I could be. Always have a smile and a joke for someone and they will always be your friend and respect you. It helped me to be successful in my career.
I admired the way he lived his life. A man with a big heart but his own man.
My father lived a simple life and encourged me to retire and enjoy the fruits of my labor.
I finally did in May and spent a part of the summer bonding with hin.
We spent years going to division reunions and we traveled to Normandy in 1997 where we were when they filmed the movie Saving Private Ryan. We were asked to be an extra in the film but declined.
I will miss everything we had common and the things we did together.
I will continue to live my life in his foot steps until I die.
I miss you and love you dearly.
Your Son, Nick

Your dad was unique!
He and my dad were in the same outfit in wwII.
I called your dad "George Washington " of the Italian American Veterans Club.
He was there at the founding of the IAV and was the distinquished voice for the last 50 years.
Our community is poorer with the passing of Albert.
