Louis Revelant

SHARON, Pa. — Louis Revelant, age 92, of S. Buhl Farm Drive, Hermitage, Pa., formerly of Ashtabula, Ohio, and New Brighton, Pa., passed away early Sunday morning, Jan. 18, 2009, at Sharon Regional Health System in Sharon, Pa., after a brief illness.Born in Midland, Pa., on May 10, 1916, a son of the late Peter and Louisa (Justi) Revelant Sr. He was a 1934 graduate of new Brighton High School and a 1952 graduate of the University of New Mexico with a Masters in Education from Ball State University. A Veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On March 8, 1942, he married Zylva E. Boyer and she died Dec. 27, 2003.Mr. Revelant was an English and History teacher with the Ashtabula City School District for many years. He had also worked as an assistant principal and director of adult education classes for Ashtabula County.He was a member of the 1st Congregational Church of Ashtabula and the American Legion Post 19 of New Brighton, where he was their oldest member. An avid reader, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren. He was past chairman of the Whispering Oaks Residents Board of Directors.Survivors include a brother, Peter Revelant Jr. of Rochester, Pa.; a sister, Ida Revelant of New Brighton, Pa.; three nieces, Roxanne Lambert, Lisa Fyock and Maria Mayle; a nephew, Peter A. Revelant; and his special friend and caregiver, Martha Flickinger. He is also survived by two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.Besides his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Revelant; a brother, Dante Revelant; and his grandson, Robert Borger.At his request, there will be no visitation or services, cremation services will be provided by the Funeral Home.Donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.Arrangements by HAROLD W.
