FELICIA ROWORTH Obituary

ROWORTH, Felicia D. Felicia passed away peacefully at her home at Brightview Danvers on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the age of 89. She was the wife of the late Harold (Bud) Roworth for 64 years. Devoted and loving mother to her three children, Robert Alan Roworth and his wife, Maureen of Whippany, New Jersey, her twin daughters, Patricia Lynn Roworth of Ipswich, Massachusetts and Wendy Ann Roworth and her husband Philip Koch of Salem, Massachusetts. She also leaves two grandchildren, Robert J. Roworth and his wife, Cara Roworth of Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, and Carey Provo and her husband, Kevin Provo of Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, and four great grandchildren, Regan and Stella Roworth of Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, and Jackson and Jamison Provo of Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. Felicia also leaves her sister, Barbara Ryan, of Windsor, Vermont, and her three children, Felicia, Craig, and David and their children. Felicia was born on February 2, 1928 in Bloomfield, New Jersey and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Domaleski. She grew up in Woodridge, New Jersey and graduated from Clifford J. Scott High School in Orange, New Jersey in June of 1945. She then went on to graduate first in her class from Berkeley Secretarial School in East Orange, New Jersey, also in 1945. She worked at East Orange High School in East Orange, New Jersey and also worked for a small real estate office and did some modeling. She married Bud Roworth when he returned from serving in the Air Force in World War II in March 1946. Felicia and Bud lived with his parents on Dodd Street in East Orange, New Jersey for two years when their son was born before moving to Verona. After their twin daughters were born in 1953, the Roworths moved from Verona to Whippany, New Jersey in 1955 where she was a stay-at-home mom and raised her three children. She had dinner on the table at 5:45 every night and always dressed in a dress, pearls, and silk stockings for dinner. She was a Brownie troop leader, a Girl Scout leader, a class mother, and chaperone on many, many field trips. The Roworth's home was always a gathering place for all of their children's friends throughout their school years and beyond. Bud and Felicia could be seen in the grandstands at most of the Whippany Park High School athletic events cheering for the Whippany Park Wildcats and the individual athletes. Bud and Felicia for many years followed the LPGA tournaments all over the East Coast, establishing a wonderful, personal relationship with Jan Stephenson. In 1972, after renting houses for many summers on Martha's Vineyard Island, Felicia and her husband bought the first of three homes on the Island where she spent about six months a year for over 50 years. They also owned property in Jensen Beach and Palm City, Florida, where she spent many, many winters enjoying the sun, entertaining family and friends, and playing golf. She and Bud were charter members at Farm Neck Golf Club on Martha's Vineyard and also members of Hammock Creek Golf Club in Palm City, Florida. Bud and Felicia's "homebase" was always in New Jersey - Whippany, Morristown, Panther Valley, and Morris Township. In May 2002, they moved to Brooksby Village in Peabody, Massachusetts where they enjoyed eight years before Bud passed away. Felicia was always a Mets fan, but when she moved to Peabody, she quickly became an avid Red Sox fan. Felicia moved from Brooksby Village to Brightview Danvers in March 2016 after suffering a serious fall. Felicia loved to sew and hand quilt, bake, entertain, correspond with family and friends on her typewriter, and play golf, but most of all, she loved her family. She will forever be missed by her family and many friends who loved her. The Roworth family would like to thank: everyone at Brightview Danvers for taking wonderful care of their mother and making her last months very comfortable; many home health aides from Senior Helpers Boston North; and also Care Dimensions, especially Mary Barrett, who has been affectionately called "Angel Mary," and also cared for Bud in his last months before passing away in October 2010. Thank you all for your kindness and compassion. Funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly. If friends and family would like, please consider making a donation in Felicia's name to Care Dimensions (formerly known as Hospice of the North Shore), 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B–102, Danvers, MA 01923, or to Alzheimer's Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, Maryland 20871, or to a charity of your choice. Dear Wendy and family, My mother, Sophie and I, are very sorry to hear of the loss of your dear mother, Felicia. We had so much fun over the years at LPGA tournaments with both of your parents, following Jan from the gallery and rooting for her to play well. Fun times in Florida, Vermont, Massachusetts and New York events. Will also remember fun dinners together after the tournaments and the wonderful conversations and laughs we would have. Our condolences to your family. Sincerely, Suzanne Craig and Sophie Dempsey
