Harriette Jane Crews Holt

HARRIETTE JANE CREWS HOLT Mrs. Harriette Jane Crews Holt of Wilmington, NC and formerly of South Boston left our world for a better place on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. She was born in Halifax County on November 19, 1914 and was 100 years old. She was the daughter of the late Franklin Noblin Crews Sr. and Elizabeth Archer Grubbs Crews and was married to the late William Reuben Holt. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and was an organist for many years at Powell Funeral Home and played for many churches in South Boston. Survivors include her son, Dr. William R. Holt Jr. and wife Shelly S. Holt of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren, Jocelyn Holt of Raleigh, NC, and William Sander Holt of Raleigh, NC; and special friend Rhonda Apke and son Joshua of Wilmington, NC. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Noblin Crews Jr. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with The Very Rev. Dr. Susan Grimm officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the service at 1:00 PM.
