Learned about his passing 10 years late. I only knew Vincent for a short amount of time, but he was a lovely human being, indeed. God's speed, gentle soul.

This is crazy I've known you since I was in the 2nd grade my 18th birthday will be April 2nd you have taught my family so much and I will never forget how being in your dance class opened me up and how excited I got every time we learned something new . It saddens me that I will never be able to see you again and that you will never get to me my son Marcellus . It breaks my heart that we lost Vinny. God called for his angel to come home. As I know he's in a better place. Vincent has left behind a legacy. I am so sad for the loss of this fine man who was such an inspiration to the community, to any community that he touched. It was a privilege working on the Gelede Spectacles grant with him all those years ago,and then working with him at Dreams in Wilmington. I'm so sad to hear of the passing of this great man. I knew Vincent as a teacher friend and he taught me the most important and simplest of lessons with regard to helping our young people. He taught me that remaining a consistent part of their lives over the years and not just for one semester or a year is the most important thing we can do for them -more important than being a great teacher or artist. I'm so glad I took a minute to let him know the impact his remarks made on me and I'm sure we will see and are already seeing the legacy of his selfless life on so many for whom he remained and will always remain a consistent part of their lives long after his classes were over.
