Gene!!!!!! How could I have missed this?!?! I just recently got news of your passing. You have taught me yet another valuable lesson: MAKE time for the ones you care about for they may be gone before you know it... Literaly.
I will forever be sorry that I didnt make it up to see you one last time.
Thank you for all of the good times at the kitchen table. I will never forget our time together sharing stories that were washed down with a Nordeast or Glick after I plowed snow or mowed grass! You are a legend in my book that I was always proud to serve, thank you for all of the inspiration.
I guess this time I cant smile and say "Just keep being my Neighbor" as I head towards home and I was never really good with goodbyes, you will be forever missed!!!!!
In this goodbye though (strangely)there may be something you can do for me;(NO, I still dont want your money! LOL). If you could maybe keep an eye on the little one that we sent up there a few weeks ago; we never got to meet him/her but if he/she was going to be anything like their parents I can only imagine that he/she will be a handfull! I couldnt think of anyone better than you to tell them story or two of their mom and dad! It would be greatly appreciated.
I will continue to take care of the street and your place to the best of my ability so dont worry about a thing back here, sit back with your wife and enjoy Gene; you deserve it!!
You will remain in our hearts forever; we send our prayers and sympathy to all family and friends.
Sincerely, T-N-T

Ah, Gene,
Ahlstrom ROAD will miss you. You took amazing care of all of us who lived here for so many years!
Jacob and I will, most especially, miss sitting quietly with you in your backyard on a hot summer's night. I've already missed seeing you reading the paper at your kitchen table on a dark winter's morning, as I drive by on the way to work.
You have been a treasure and a comfort to me and my family. Rest well, our friend. We know that you're now happily dancing with your Dorothy on Ahlstrom ROAD in heaven.
