Michael James Costello

Costello, Michael James Age 59, of Shoreview, passed away February 19, 2012, unexpectedly in San Diego. He was a loving husband, father, grand- father, son, brother and friend. Preceded in death by father, William E. Costello. Survived by wife of 38 years, Patricia Ann (Philben); son, Tim; daughter, Lia (fiancé Phil Sun); mother, Dorothy E. Costello; sister, Mary Costello (Granville); brother, James (Pat) Costello; grandchildren; nieces, nephews, family and dear friends. Mike has many great friends from Cretin and Our Lady of Peace class of 1970 where he met his wife, Patty. Mike graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1974 with a degree in Geo-Engineering, and subsequently attained a Masters in Geo-Engineering as well. Mike ran a successful environmental engineering firm in St. Paul for over 15 years. Mike sold his business to Barr Engineering, where he was currently employed as a Vice President. His former employees remain some of his best friends and he is well respected in his field. He was an avid cyclist, fabulous photographer/blogger, and worldwide traveler with his beloved wife, family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all.
