Robert Austin Holdahl

Holdahl, Robert Austin Age 89 of Hopkins, MN and Rio Verde, AZ. Preceded in death by wife, Ann; daughter, Amy Sheeley; and brother, Olaf. Survived by son, Scott (Ann); daughter, Jan (Landis) McIntire; son- in-law, Mike Sheeley; grandchildren, Megan, Lindsay, Greg, Natalie, Lachlan, and Mia; nieces, nephews and dear friends. Bob was born in Roseau, MN and grew up there with his brother and parents in a large, happy extended family. He attended Concordia College and the University of Minnesota. Following WWII service in the Army Air Corps., he returned to the U of M and earned his masters in Aeronautical Engineering. Bob married his college sweetheart and raised their 3 children in the Hopkins/ Minnetonka area where he lived for most of his adult life. Although he began wintering in Rio Verde, AZ in the ‘80s, Bob remained a Minnesotan at heart. He was an avid golfer who also loved to fish and hike. He loved life and spending time with his family and large group of friends. Bob was a wonderful father, grandfather, husband and friend. He will be greatly missed. Memorials preferred to The First Tee Minneapolis or Alzheimer's Association. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorial service Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 7 PM with visitation 1 hour prior to service at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 715 Minnetonka Mills Road, Hopkins.
