David Hallowell Obituary

Hallowell, David Allen A long time Lake Minnetonka resident, Dave passed away on April 8. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; son, Bryce; daughter, Sharon; the mother of his children, Gretchen Hartwig; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Elma Jenkins and father, Herman Leo; brothers, Jerry and Jack, and daughter Lori Jo. Dave built a highly successful career during more than two decades living in Minnesota, home to both his surviving children. His final residence was Bend, Oregon. Dave lived a life of passion for music, admiration for the principles of democracy our nation's soldiers fought and died for, and a faith in God admired by many and matched by few. He will be profoundly missed by those whose lives he touched, but leaves this world for a better life, knowing that his time here was a gift from God to us all. Services will be held at on April 17 at the First Presbyterian Church, Bend, Oregon.

I am so saddened by Dave's passing. I can honestly say that he was among the Top 10 most respected men in my life. What a man of integrity, humor and love.
After LJ passed away, he and I had some great conversations and I will always remember Dave Hallowell.
