Our prayers are with you Mrs. Newman. We were away and just heard this week about your tragic loss. You are Michaela's absolute favorite teacher, you were always so happy and upbeat! She always told us how much you loved your husband and children. You used to light up when you spoke of them. I hope you will one day again be able to be the bubbly happy person you were when she was in your class. You have your own personal Guardian Angel now and he would want you to find happiness and peace again. Our prayers are with you and the children to be strong and always remember the joy Doug brought into your life!

Amy, Hannah, Elliot, Ali and Nick,

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I am so very sorry for your loss. Doug was a wonderful person, a good friend for many years in Minnesota, and a person pf the highest integrity.

Love,

July 12, 2010

I was honored to be your friend and I learned so much from you during the short time we knew each other.

I took our friendship for granted because I thought we would be able to talk and work together for years to come.

I am grateful to have been able to walk with you during your journey. I hope you are at peace. God Bless.

I am terribly saddened by this news-I was so looking forward to seeing Doug at our 40th reunion which took place 7 days after his tragic accident. It did not appear to me that anyone at the reunion new of this-I'm sure an announcement would have been made. He was indeed a special person and my heartfelt prayers go out to his family.

May you continue your journey in peace Doug, as you lived you life on earth. Angelo
