Survivors: daughters and son-in-law, Page Rountree of Sylvania, Stephanie R. and Robert Farmer of Sylvania and Jessica Marie Rountree of Statesboro; stepchildren, Jason Walker of Sylvania and Jeremy Walker of Statesboro; sister-in-law, Carolyn L. Rountree of Sylvania; aunt, Nora Jean Boddiford of Sylvania; grandchildren, Ashley Mock, Corey Mock and Lige Farmer; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 6-8 p.m.
The funeral service: Sunday, March 1, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Chapel with the Rev. Steve Purnell officiating. Burial will be in the Buck Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Chip Bazemore, Thomas Pitts, T.W. Evans, Jason Walker, Jeremy Walker and Brad Farmer.
Honorary pallbearers: Planters Telephone employees, Bill Strange, Ralph Beard and Pete Graham.
In lieu of flowers: Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30458.
Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

MIKE AND I WERE VERY SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT BILLY. WE WERE OUT OF TOWN AND DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT UNTIL MONDAY. I HAD KNOWN BILLY ALL MY LIFE AND CONSIDERED HIM A FRIEND. WE WORKED AT THE TELEPHONE COMPANY TOGETHER FOR MANY YEARS. HE WILL SURELY BE MISSED. GOD BLESS YOU ALL, MIKE AND CAROLYN RUEL.
