To the entire Cromley family,
I wish I knew a better way of saying this… your family has lost a true patriarch and I know you are grieving at a depth only his family could feel, but the community, a congregation and so many friends and admirers have also lost an extraordinary leader. Mr. John was a perfect example of “The Greatest Generation” and he embodied all the good qualities and values that come to mind when we think of a “real Christian” or a “true American”. Anyone who had the good fortune to meet him or know him was blessed. It’s incomprehensibly heartrending to lose someone so wonderful but I hope you will find some comfort in knowing he left a standard for all of us to aspire to: I and so many others will continue to benefit by the gift of his example. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you as you absorb this great loss.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Kent Hill

Mrs. Rebecca and Family,
After I arrived in Brooklet ten years ago to assume the principalship of Southeast Bulloch Middle School and throughout my time there, Mr. John made himself known to me as a true friend, both of myself and of the school. He was one of the finest gentlemen I have had the honor to know in my life. Brooklet and Bulloch County have lost one of its remaining heroes. Gail and I will have you all in our thoughts and prayers.
