Vincent "Hap" Arnold Taylor passed away peacefully on August 3, 2015 at Christopher House in Austin, after a valiant struggle with cancer. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 2PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, TX. Hap was born July 25, 1944 to Vincent F. Taylor and Virginia L. Williams. Hap had varied career paths as a bartender, cook and bar manager but the last 30 years of his life were spent hanging wallpaper and as owner of Best Blinds of Central Texas. He was an artist at both. But his passion was music, writing 3-chord country songs about people he met along the way. He traveled with Eddie Chiles, owner of the Western Company of North America, an oil conglomerate and conservative who believed in less government control, performing his song "I'm Mad, Too, Eddie" at oil and gas conventions across the country. Hap was an invited guest at Eddie's funeral in 1993 where he performed the song. He wrote a song for his friend, Jon McBride, pilot of the "Space Shuttle Columbia" which launched March 6, 1986 and the song Hap wrote, "Jon McBride", was played as a wake-up call for astronauts in flight.

Hap is survived by his wife, Patricia Boyd Taylor, of Georgetown, his daughters, Laura Freeman and grandson Paris of Dallas, and his mother, Virginia Taylor of Dripping Springs. He is also survived by his sisters Victoria Taylor, Virginia Buckley, Veronica Taylor, Judi Cantor and Mary Henderson and his brother, James Taylor. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews scattered around the country.
