Hope, Franny & Candy - I remember my early days in Austin. Your Dad was our cheerleader. From the sidelines, he offered deservedly candid yet encouraging comments. As State Bar President, he included this rookie lawyer in Bar activities. Later, we spent many years working for The Salvation Army. His was a life well-lived. Paul and I are both fortunate to have known him.

I spent many wonderful days at the Lochridge home while growing up in Austin. It was a unique and beautiful place. I enjoyed many meals seated around their large antique dinning table with my friend Hope and her many sisters and brothers. Mr. Lochridge, seated at the head of the table, served each of us and led the conversation. He was interested in hearing from everyone and about everyone. I was very fortunate to know him. Such great memories !

While I practiced law in Austin, I had only a few contacts with Mr. Lochridge, but found him to be exactly the way he was described. He was courtly, considerate, a true gentleman, and a widely respected member of the Travis County Bar Association. Along with Mr. Chris Daugherty, I considered him to be a model of what a lawyer should be.
