Mary Anderson Obituary

Mary C. Beaver Anderson Mary C. Beaver Anderson (Marylee) born in Austin, Texas, on August 21, 1923 to parents Howard A. Beaver and Louise Grimes Beaver departed her earthly life on November 25, 2011. She spent her childhood in east Austin (10th ward) attending Metz, Allan Jr. High and graduating from Austin High School in 1941. She worked as a page at the state capital and then went to work for Southwestern Bell as an operator on a switchboard. She was married to Leon Richard Anderson on January 15, 1944. After a few more years working she became a full time mom, raising two sons and a neighborhood of children. A boy scout den mother, classroom mother at Zilker and Porter, baseball mother and Sunday school teacher, these were her calling in life. Her early years shaped her determination and her compassion for others. A member of Christ Lutheran Church as a charter member her motto was as she told us often "that the Lord never put more on your plate than you could handle". Marylee was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, her parents, a brother, Frank Beaver, sisters-in-law, Peggy Beaver and Elfie Thomas, and brothers-in-law, Bruce Thomas and Vernon Streeter. She is survived by son, Lee Roy Anderson and wife, Susan of Buda, TX; granddaughter, Dawn Nicole Sheets and husband, Jay and great-grandson, Carter Sheets of Forney, TX; son, Carl E. Anderson and wife, Debbie of Buda and grandsons, Howard Anderson of Big Springs, TX and Paul Anderson of Llano, TX; brother, Leslie Beaver of Lockhart, TX; sisters-in-law, Bernice Amy Streeter of Austin, TX, Virginia Tschatschula and husband, Leroy of Houston, TX and numerous cousins; nephews; nieces and friends. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of Riverside Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for their loving care of our mother during her stay there. Also, words cannot express our thanks to those that visited her during her confinement. Friends, church members and family have been a great comfort during this difficult time. We send our love to Jewel Anderson, Don Anderson, Brenda Langley and her family for their tireless efforts on behalf of our mother. Family will receive friends at Pennington Funeral Home, on Sunday, November 27, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2011, at Christ Lutheran Church, 300 E. Monroe St., Austin, TX, with Pastor John C. Stennfeld officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville, TX. Memorials can be made to Christ Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice. Arrangements under the care and guidance of Pennington Funeral Home, 323 N. Comanche, San Marcos, Texas 78666, 512-353-4311. Obituary and guestbook online at www.penningtonfuneralhome.com

Marylee's never ending smile will be missed. As a child I couldn't wait to get to the Anderson reunion for her cinnamon rolls. I hope thinking of all the good memories will help in the coming months. So sorry for your loss.
