Ted W. Becker

(06/08/2003) Ted W. Becker, 77, of Austin, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2003. Ted graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. In 1987 he retired from a 37-year career as a Chemist with the Materials and Test Division of the Texas Highway Department. He was a veteran of World War II. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2003 at Bethany United Methodist Church. A private family committal service will be held after the service. Ted is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Becker; one daughter Nancy Mallonee and her husband David of Rogersville, MO; two sons, Rob Becker and his wife Kathy of Austin and John Becker and his wife Shannon of Cedar Park; and eight grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Theo and Alma Becker; sister Leona Piper and his brother Edward Becker all of Victoria, Texas. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 8, 2003, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
