Solange Kowert Obituary
November 26, 1925 - November 12, 2017
Salem - Solange L Kowert, 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017. She was a devoted wife and loving mother of three. She attended Cranbrook Academy of Art and Haystack Mountain of Crafts. She became an instructor of Fiber Arts at Portland State University and a well-known artist and designer of wool tapestries and rugs. She loved knitting, sewing, weaving and had the greenest of thumbs when it came to her gardens. Most of all she enjoyed her annual trips to the north of Scotland where she found great comfort and inspiration. She will be remembered lovingly by all who knew her.
Solange was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Kowert, Jr and son Karl M. Kowert. She is survived by her son Bruno M Kowert and daughter Paula M Kowert.
Private family services are in care of City View Funeral Home.
