Tyler McCormick Obituary

Tyler Raymond McCormick

August 21, 1994 - July 1, 2012

SALEM - Tyler McCormick passed away on Sunday morning at the age of 17 after a courageous 5yr battle with cancer. He was born August 21, 1994 in Vallejo, California to Joe and Dora (Frank) McCormick.

Tyler was born in California but moved to Salem at the age of 6months to grow up with his many cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. He attended Sprague High School and would have graduated this year in June.

In Tyler's short life he touched many lives with his kind and loving heart, his beautiful smile, big blue eyes and his fun loving attitude toward life. Over the last five years he became an "Inspiration" to others through his fight with cancer. In spite of his long and painful battle he showed dignity, courage, strength, endurance, grace and determination beyond belief. Tyler's greatest passions were music, art, technology and he was an avid reader. During his life he played the Piano, Clarinet, Sax and his favorite the Guitar. He also found great comfort in drawing and painting, which produced many wonderful pieces of artwork. Tyler was a seeker of knowledge and technology and wise beyond his years, about so many different subjects. His little brother Jacob described him as "pure talent and the smartest person I know." We wish so badly we could of seen where all of this knowledge and passion would have taken him had his life not been cut short. Tyler's life was a gift to everyone who knew him and his passing has left a huge hole in our hearts forever. Tyler will always be loved and missed by so many so deeply.

"You Are My Sunshine My Only Sunshine"

Tyler is survived by his father Joe, his mother Dora and his brother Jacob, his grandma Patty King, dozens of cousins, numerous aunts & uncles and his three loveable pets, dog Sunny, cat Rocky and bird Cheech.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10am, Saturday July 14th at Salem Alliance Church , 555 Gaines St NE, Salem, OR 97301. Private interment will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens. Arrangements are by City View Funeral Home
