Johanna Craigmyle Obituary

Johanna Maria Craigmyle

Johanna went to be with the Lord on Jan. 26 with her family by her side.

She was born in the Netherlands to Peter and Maria Schlyper. She married Floyd Craigmyle in 1945; he preceeded her in death in 2004.

She always had a positive attitude, loved to fish, play cards, and was famous for her waffles. She asked that we remember her with laughter. The memories of her are endless.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria Studebaker (Marvin) of Eugene; son, Bill (Deb) of Sublimity; grandsons and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Joe; granddaughter, Debbie; and 12 siblings.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church (770 Chemeketa St) in Salem.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to Willamette Valley Hospice.

Jo and her husband were great neighbors, our husbands enjoyed each others company and Jo always had a smile for you and was delightful and witty. She will be remembered with fond memories. My prayers to the family.

It was such a blessing to know Johanna. She welcomed my son, Ryan, into the family and treated him with such love and kindness. He thought the world of her. Once I met her I understood why he thought so much of her. She was warm, kind, honest and hilarious. She simply blessed our lives.
Our prayers are with her family during this most sad time. I do know that Great Grandma will be with us all in our memories and would want us to laugh and share a meal at Hometown buffet

An amazing woman that could always make me laugh by her just being herself. I will miss visiting with her. It was always fun to watch a cooking show or wrestling with her. The commentary that she lent to the programs was always an added bonus!

May you rest i the arms of God. I lived behind Johanna when I was little and she babysat me. We got along well as I was as much of a talker as she was. The things I remember the most are her frog collection and her dutch shoes and oh yes I remember when she would get upset at her husband she would revert to her dutch language. I never knew what she was saying and that is probably a good thing. She was a tiny little lady with a big huge heart.
