Donald Meyers Obituary

Meyers, Donald C. Long time Crestwood resident Donald C. Meyers, 72 died Sunday, October 16, 2011 at St. Louis University Hospital following a sudden heart attack. Mr. Meyers was born on April 7, 1939 in St. Louis, MO. to Stella Meyers. He attended Roosevelt High School where he was a Varsity athlete in Track and Field and Cross Country. He served in the United States Marine Corps and later retired from MSD after 33 years of service. Donald lovingly referred to as Rivers enjoyed nothing more than taking care of his family. He provided unconditional love and support to his sons and daughter and played an active role in the lives of his 9 grandchildren. His interests included family, cooking, soccer and running. He is survived by his best friend and beloved wife for 48 years Josephine (Rivera) Meyers; his daughter Michelle (John) Pommer, his son Mark (Joann) Meyers, his son Mike (Melissa) Meyers and his son Mitch Meyers; his sisters Sharon Thornton and Lydia Long; nine grandchildren and many close relatives and friends. Services: Funeral from KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. (At Butler Hill) Wednesday, October 19, 1 p.m. Interment National Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, 4-9 p.m.
