Jeanne Robins Obituary

Robins, Jeanne Busenbark Born January 18, 1923, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, only child of Newton Wallace and Mabel Pearl (Beam) Busenbark. Died December 20th 2012, 89 years old, at her home, The Gatesworth, Clayton Missouri. Born in Crawfordsville, IN, daughter of a successful businessman with a townhome on the campus of Wabash College, she attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO in 1941 and transferred to Purdue University in 1942, graduating in 1945. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. While at Purdue she met John Marion Alvey Jr. and was married to him June 20, 1945. They moved to St. Louis where their only child Thomas M. Alvey was born in 1947. J. M. Alvey Jr. died in 1964 and Jeanne married Seth A. Robins in 1965. With Seth she enjoyed designing and building a home in Ladue, living part of the year in Borrego Springs, CA, boating the Mississippi on the Puffin, golf, traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Seth preceded her in death in 1999. She is survived by her son Thomas (Susan) Alvey and step children Andrew (Mary) Robins and Nancy (Maurice) Crews, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and her special dog, Zorro. Services: Service to be held at BOPP Chapel, 10610 Manchester, Kirkwood, MO January 10 2013. She was a gracious lady of great strength and style.
