Today, I was just informed by Tori of Dennis's untimely passing and am heart broken. I first met Dennis when I had applied and was accepted to work as a "temp" when I first moved to Florida from NYC back in 1992-3. Dennis was working for a temp agency as an IT person I had applied to. Dennis and I instantly hit it off - as we were both playing drums and bonded over music.
We spent lots of time together socially, including spending time at his house in Weston or my studio to playing drums - analyzing drummers together, turning each other on to drum grooves, practice techniques, as well as many types of musical artists.
There were many years after I first met Dennis as well, where we both worked in downtown Miami/Brickell area so we would end up eating lunch on a daily basis together, and/or even hanging out after work at the surrounding restaurants, bars or even at the law office where he had gotten another IT gig. He had set up several first-person shooter games over the law firm's network, (Duke Nukem and Doom [mostly Duke Nukem]) so Dennis, me and his IT partner would game for hours, not leaving sometimes until close to midnight. :) Dennis was responsible for me getting a job at another law firm on downtown Brickell, where I eventually ended up meeting an old girlfriend whom I was together with for 10 years. She and I left that firm to create her own solo practice, and she has been
Dennis's and my friendship grew through the decades and I truly loved him as a great friend. We remained close friends and would discuss everything about life, existentially, or practical stuff like musical gear, photographic gear, or the stuff that either of us were going through. When Dennis left Florida to live in other States our communication lessened - as I had additionally graduated law school and embarked on an all time consuming legal career building my solo practice; however, we would always stay in touch and would spend hours talking on the telephone catching-up from where we had last left off.
I think everyone that really knew Dennis, knew him to be an incredibly amazing, warm-hearted, caring person of gifted intelligence, endless creativity and truly insightful. He always impressed me by his ability to be so quickly self-taught; within the field of computer programing, or anything he really wanted to put his mind to - like photography. Dennis was always incredibly successful in each step/endeavor that he chose to embark on throughout his life. Dennis was my friend and muse - through many difficult times in my life, and likewise, I believe I was able to assist him as well during some of the tough times he encountered. We were good at bringing clarity to one another.
I always believe in synchronicity and/or the creative magic of the universe for why certain people come into each other's lives - like stars within certain constellations, and I likewise always believed there was a very important reason that Dennis and I came into each other's lives. Needless to say I will very much miss him, spending time with him and our long heart-felt talks, I am overwhelmed with sadness by his loss and send my deepest heart-felt love and condolences to all of his family and friends.
Love you my Brother Dennis! oxMark

These few words can't possibly convey how much you truly were a wonderful, intelligent, talented, generous, compassionate, caring man and certainly a courageous brave heart. I can only say thank you for touching my life, and the lives of all those around you. The world is a lesser place without you.

Dennis was a wonderful person to know. He was so kind and giving to his friends and family. He had many talents including being a professional drummer for many years and an avid photographer. He also had an incredible knack for computers and technology and rose high in the IT world. He was such a wealth of knowledge and was happy to share with anyone who needed help or had questions to ask. He loved his family and friends and he loved his little dog, Molly, and his bunnies, Pumpkin and Noodles. There is a hole in our lived without him here and he will be greatly missed by so many. We LOVE you Dennis!! We will always remember you in our hearts and minds.
Dennis Sindrey was a very kind and thoughtful person who loved his friends and family.
