Debra Gordon Obituary

Debra Gordon
Debra (Debbie) Kay Gordon departed this life on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Mercy Medical Central in Fort Smith, Arkansas, after a valiant and courageous fight with Covid-19. She was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to William C. and Barbara McLachlan. Debbie was married to Bill W. Gordon on November 27, 1971.
Debbie Gordon was a devoted wife and mother and deeply loved her family. She and Bill had two sons, Chris and Clay and they spent countless hours at ball fields, the lake and just enjoying watching them grow from babies to youths to wonderful, strong, and dedicated men. Together, they gave their sons the strong foundation to become tremendous husbands to their own families. Bill and Debbie achieved that goal. Debbie was so proud of the wives that her sons choose for life partners. She loved and adored Christina and Kelli and considered them her daughters. She always loved spending quality time with Chris and Christina in Austin. Debbie and Bill also loved going to Conway to spend time with Clay, Kelli and the grandchildren, Hannah, Elizabeth, and James. "Nanny" was fulfilled when she was with them all.
Debbie was a lifelong member of Central Presbyterian Church for which she was very involved. She served on many committees and played handbells, which she enjoyed very much. Debbie was also involved with the Fort Smith Boys and Girls Clubs Ladies Auxiliary, St. Edward's Mercy Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, and the Junior Civic League. She was also active with many other charitable organizations in the community. Debbie was also a rabid Arkansas Razorback fan.
She is survived by two sons, Christopher Gordon and wife Christina of Manchaca, TX; Clay Gordon and wife Kelli of Conway, AR; two sisters, Lisa Amspacher of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Linda Wilson Peerson of Fort Smith, AR; three grandchildren, Hannah, Elizabeth and James Gordon of Conway, AR; three nieces, Adrienne Wilson Chance and husband Rick Chance of Louisville, CO, Megan Doyle of St. John's, FL and Adrienne Tiley of Apopka, FL; two nephews, Joey Amspacher from Gulf Breeze, FL, Russ Wilson and wife Mary from Farmington, AR; four great-nephews, Cody Wilson of Farmington, AR; Trey, Jackson and Nate Chance of Louisville, CO; two great-nieces, Katy and Keira Doyle of St. John's, FL; in-laws William and Irma Mullen of Mansfield, AR, Jane and John Stauffer from Fort Smith, AR; Brother-in-law Steve Gordon and wife Jennifer of Fort Smith, AR.
