Dear Claire,Randy & family,

Only a few weeks ago we spent precious time together at our reunion. Little did we know how important it was. Dick always made us feel comfortable and certainly was an important part of all our

Claire and Family, Dick was one whose enthusiasm was contagious and who supported many worthwhile causes. First among those causes was his family, of whom he spoke positively and regularly. I know his passing will leave a big gap in your lives, but he will live on in the positive effects he had on all who were around him. Yours in sympathy,

Clair and Randy –

I am so sorry to read of your loss. I was working this weekend when I received Randy’s e-mail announcement. I have been editing photos and videos this weekend from our recent Gymkana reunion on Alligator Point and Posey’s restaurant in Panacea for a CD we will be sending out soon. Dick was prominent in several photos, from several people and also in a video that Fran Dennard made. You will soon have those visual memories to add to your many others.

It is with deep sadness and shock that we, who loved him, learned that Dick Traynor, the husband of Alma Claire Essig Traynor passed away. We were blessed that we had just been with Dick at the recent FSU Gymnastics Reunion and had a chance to talk, laugh together, and share a hug as we all said our goodbyes. In all of their forty four years of marriage Claire and he have been a loving, strong part of our forever friends group. He was always; soft-spoken, smiling, kind, and cheerful. He was a great friend to us all. He will be greatly missed. God Bless Dick, Claire, and his family.

I am saddened to learn of Dick Traynor's passing, he was a wonderful friend, Knight, and Brother in Christ. I will always remember the time he took with me and all of us "newbie" Knights to answer questions, give sound advice, and offer kind words of cheer when I needed it the most. Those cornball jokes stay with me, too, I've repeated them often. He was an enthusiastic supporter when I became choir director and he even talked his wife into joining the choir ! Now he is reunited with his son, Rick, in heaven and hugging him as he did on earth. Blessings to the entire council & assembly, miss you all.

P.S. Will have a 10:30 Mass said for him at Blessed Sacrament.

Claire, I know Dick is in a better place -- one without sickness and pain, but that doesn't stop the grieving over your best friend. Our prayers needent be with Dick, his life speaks for itself, rather our prayers will be for you and your family in this time of need.
