I knew both John and Bowden for many years. John coached my son Jonathan in baseball and Bowden was in the same classes as my son Scott. I cried when I heard the news. I still think of them often. May God bless them and your family. Amen.

I am extremely proud to say that I had a friendship with Bowden Madden. He was one of the first fast friends I made on my first overwhelming day at Meigs. Throughout that year we shared innumerable laughs and smiles. He was a friend to everyone no matter what. He is missed terribly. RIP #57

Bowden. He means so much to so many people and although he may be gone I know he will never be forgotten. To me he wasn't the center on the football field, or the center in the back row for the bass section in chorus, or even the center of attention but he was the center of my heart and all who knew him. I love the Madden family like my own. Anna's friendship means so much to me. I will always be here for any of you and you will always have my support and love.

My prayers go out to Bowden and Madden family. I went to school with Bowden. I knew him from Shalimar Elem. and Meigs. I would have to say that 4th and 8th grade were the best years together! They were all fun though. I remember all the times he made me laugh. Your a great person and it's so sad this had to happen! God had to choose someone because he needs someone to make everyone laugh, and Bowden was the right guy for the job. I'm SO sorry for your losses I love you and miss you tons Bowden! RIP #57

To the Bowden and Madden Families:
May you feel God's loving arms around you and peace in your hearts as you seek comfort and answers to your whys.
Someday we will know why but for now I'm reminded of a saying:
"Yesterday is history; tomorrow is a mystery; today is a gift; that's why they call it the present." May God's gift give you peace through your memories of yesterday and his promise for tomorrow.
In His name, our deepest sympathy, Jim and Judy Perry

Dear Coach Bowden:
You have spent your entire adult life helping, nurturing, and making others be better than they are. You are an inspiration on and off the Football field. As has been aptly said of you, "Coach Bowden is next to God." (The X-Files, beginning of the series).
I have always been a football fan, but have come to have a true love and apprecition of the game through you. Thank you for your inspiration!
Please know that the entire FSU family keeps you in our hearts and prayers during this most difficult time. God bless.

To: Ginger Madden, Coach Bobby Bowdwen and Mrs. Ann Bowden and family
My prayers are with each of you during the bereavement of your son and former husband and son-in-law.
Sometimes we do not understand why things happen the way that they do, please be assured God is in control and does not make a mistake. His ways are not our ways and he takes the good like he does the bad.
If God brings you to it, he will bring you through it.

Coach Bowden and Family,
I am not sure if you will remember me. I was the mascot back in 1989. (the now retired Tomahawk) I am also a very close friend to The Frier family. Wanda told me about the guest book and I wanted to send my dearest condolences during this terrible time of pain and suffering. We just recently lost a 15 year old to a car accident. It is still with much pain I write this. The only comfort found is in the presence of the sweet Lord and Savior of us all, the one who is a discerner of the thoughts and intentions of our heart, long before we utter a word. May He provide you with a new found hope for each empty day ahead All my love and prayers go your way.
Sincerely,
Angie Hester

My heart and prayers go to the Bowden and Madden families. Sunday I was also on I-10 returning from a family gathering when I came upon John/Bowden's tragic accident. I was very upset because it reminded me of my best friend who died instantly in an auto accident 9 months ago, after we had just been together. It also reminded me of the lesson I have learned, we are never promised tomorrow. We must live each day as it is our last. I have always heard this from others, but never has it had the meaning that it does to me now. Take comfort in the love for each other you shared, the blessing of having had them in your lives and the promise that you will be together again.

I have a son Bowden's age. I know, therefore, that I can only imagine the grief you must be feeling and my heart goes out to you all.
I pray that God's grace will be with you and that you will accept for yourselves the "peace that defies all understanding" that comes only through Him.

Mr.Bowden, I have listened to your testimony twice. Both times you mentioned the comfort of knowing the fact that your father was saved. Yet the emptiness of your (I believe that it was your Uncle) uncle who was not a believer. God has made a way for your family. When I was in Tallahassee I met the uncle of a 16 year old girl from Monticello who had lost control of her car, hit a tree and died instantly. (On Saturday) The very next car that came along was her mother and father. What faith the parents have, they were in church the next morning and back again that night. How easy it would be to be mad at God, or even shaken their faith. Yet, Had they not been there they would not have witnessed five of her non-church going friends accept Christ! God working things for eternity through their daughter. I was told that they had praise and worship at her service. Life eternal through Christ crucified! God bless you and all of your family. I believe that this will turn at least one loved one into a believer. And your eulogy of your grandson will again change eternity for many hearts listening!
