90, of St. Petersburg, FL transitioned to his heavenly home on September 26, 2025. He is survived by his son, Alvin T. Porter Jr.; daughters, Jocelyn Porter-Wright (Prentiss), Dr. Jennifer Porter-Smith (David); grandchildren, Morgan Rachel Smith, Samahra Wright, Solomon Smith, Symone Wright; a host of relatives and friends. Visitation on Oct. 3, 3-6 pm (Kappa Alpha Psi 6-7 pm) at Lawson and Service Oct. 4, 1 pm at 20th Street Church of Christ.

I extend my condolences and prayers to the family of Alvin Porter. Mr. Porter was a teacher at Perkins Elementary along with my mother and was also my 5th grade teacher. Additionally, he and my father were both members of 20th Street Church of Christ. RIP Mr. Porter.
