Gerald Weed Obituary

WEED, Gerald Edward, 62, of Zolfo Springs, died December 24, 2005 in Lakeland. He was born Sept. 20, 1942 in Wauchula, and lived in Hardee County all of his life. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Wauchula, and a Hardee High School graduate. He was owner of Weed's Aluminum in Zolfo Springs, and had worked for 38 years with CSX Transportation being a foreman on the railroad. He served in the Army National Guard. Survivors include his wife, Beverly; son, Ben Weed and wife Kim of Wauchula; daughter, Tina LeConte and husband Chris of Wauchula; brother, Virgil Weed of Wauchula; sisters, Dorothy Alderman of Wauchula and Johnna Mae Starling and husband Ronald of Orange Park; and grandchildren, Josh Weed and Christina LeConte. Services will be conducted on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 10 a.m. at New hope Baptist Church, Wauchula, with burial in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Robarts Family Garden Chapel, Wauchula. Contributions may be made to Feed the Children. Ro barts Family Funeral Home, Wauchula 863-773-9773
