Born in Washington, D.C., he moved to Rhode Island with his family as a child and lived most of his life in Barrington. John represented insurance companies and was my worthy opponent in dozens of legal actions. He was an outstanding attorney, always honest and fair in his actions. A perfect gentleman. We could always disagree without being disagreeable. His family should be justly proud of him.

I want to express my condolences to Jack’s wife and daughter. Over the years, we represented co-defendants and on occasion adverse parties. Jack was a talented and honorable lawyer, always prepared and always civil. I was sorry to hear of his death and my thoughts are with his loved ones.

So sorry to hear of his passing. While I was attached to a Naval Reserve Surface Division, LCDR Kershaw was the Executive Officer. Some years later he helped me and my parents in resolving several minor issues that occurred pertaining to poor workmanship on our property. He was very kind and professional. He was very proud of his daughter's accomplishments, and expressed concern for the challenges she faced on the occasion of 9/11. He also spoke very highly of his wife. It has been many years since I spoke with him, and I offer my sincerest condolences to his family.

Most sincere condolences to Georgette and Michele,
John was a pleasant man, studious professional, great story teller and tenacious card player. As husband, father and friend, John was top draw.
